With our nation on a heightened state of alert and military action abroad, once again SEPTA is asking customers to be aware of their surroundings. The following information was prepared by SEPTA regarding safety and security on the SEPTA system.

• Be aware of your surroundings. Most SEPTA customers use the same travel patterns each day and become very familiar with the stations, vehicles, SEPTA personnel, as well as other customers.
• Be alert for suspicious people or objects. NEVER confront an individual or attempt to touch or move a strange package. Please move away and notify SEPTA Police or SEPTA personnel immediately. Please remember: Do not use a cell phone in the vicinity of a suspicious package.
• Review emergency exit information posted in SEPTA stations and vehicles. Please also pay attention to the location of exits and safety equipment at stations, terminals, and vehicles.
